Growing up in Detroit in the 90s, just about everyone tuned into the Drew and Mike show in the mornings. The duo ruled the airwaves with a mix of local news, sports, opinion and entertainment.

According to the Detroit News, Mike Clark has passed away at 63.

His longtime co-host and friend Drew Lane confirmed his death to The Detroit News on Tuesday, saying Clark, 63, died in his sleep Monday night.

"He had some medical issues the past couple years, but I'm still very surprised because we were texting yesterday and he was in typically good humor," Lane said.

The news was first reported on Mike Clark's Facebook page.

"It is with great sadness that we announce that Mike Clark has passed away during the night. He is now flying high like he always wanted. ----✈️--

We do ask for the privacy of the family members as they mourn his passing but welcome to leave any posts or comments below and they will be passed on to the family."

For over 20 years, Drew and Mike were a staple in Detroit and always had a type of humor I could get behind.

"I can't believe I'm not going to hear his laugh anymore," Lane said. "He had an incredible, incredible laugh. And he was very self-depreciating. The biggest laugh was always when he shared something from his own life like when he drove out of his garage with the garage door down."
