Lions Reportedly Hosting RB Spencer Ware On Free Agent Visit

Their search for Kerryon Johnson's compliment continues.

The Lions brought back Zach Zenner last week, but their plans at running back don't appear to be complete.

They kicked the tires on Mark Ingram at the start of free agency, before watching him sign with the Ravens.

And on Monday they are bringing in Spencer Ware for a visit, according to Adam Schefter

In 13 games with the Chiefs last season, Ware averaged 4.8 yards per carry on 51 attempts. He was Kansas City's lead running back in 2016 when he averaged 4.3 yards per carry.

The Lions are committed to a timeshare in the backfield with Kerryon Johnson. Zenner is currently positioned as No. 2 on the depth chart, but that may well change in the near future.

Theo Riddick is in the picture as well, though he figures to get most of his work in the passing game.

Detroit's offense figures to be more run-oriented under Darrell Bevell.

Ware, 27, was a sixth-round draft pick of the Seahawks in 2013. He's a product of LSU.
