Michigan Trolls 'The Ohio State' Over Trademark, OSU Fans Hit Back

Does U of M have room to talk?

97.1 The Ticket -- Officials with Ohio State University are seeking to trademark the word "The" when used as part of the school's name on university merchandise.

The application requests a standard character trademark for the title "The Ohio State University" that would cover various items including T-shirts, baseball caps and hats, according to the Associated Press.

As rivals often do with silly off-the-field matters, the University of Michigan took a jab at OSU on Twitter, trolling them with a spoof of their own.

While creative, many Twitter users tore into U of M from the perspective that the rivalry has been rather one-sided in recent years -- the Wolverines have beaten the Buckeyes just once in the last 15 meetings in football and just three times since the turn of the century.
