The Lions are in Phase 2 of an unusual offseason, and the onus is on the players to keep themselves in shape.

Looks like rookie D'Andre Swift is holding up his end of the deal.

He's already been running routes with Matthew Stafford in Atlanta. And in a video that surfaced over the weekend, Swift can be seen bursting through drills at top-flight speed.

Swift's foot speed is the first thing that stands out. Indeed, former NFL tight end Garrett Hudson, who had a brief stint with the Lions in 2018, commented, "I’m just here to let you guys know, those feet are not normal. Not every back in the NFL is moving like that."

Asked how many NFL backs are on the same level, Hudson said "probably" under 10. In fact, Swift's agility is so impressive Hudson said he's "not convinced the video isn't sped up. ... Very precise, controlled, and quick. Scary combo."

Between Swift and fellow second-round pick Kerryon Johnson, the Lions' backfield has plenty of potential this season. Johnson has proved his ability when healthy, and Swift is among the favorites for Offensive Rookie of the Year.

On paper, the duo is something special.

Now we wait to see how they fare on the field.
