The Pistons are close to ending their search for a general manager.

The team has identified Thunder VP of Basketball Operations Troy Weaver as its top target, according to the New York Times.

And according to NBC Sports Chicago, an agreement between Weaver and Detroit could be imminent.

Weaver has been with the Thunder for the past decade. He served as assistant GM from 2010-18, before accepting his current position. He's also served as director of player personnel for the Jazz.

The Pistons' search isn't over, though. The team is also considering Clippers assistant GM and former Michigan center Mark Hughes and Nets assistant GM Jeff Patterson, according to ESPN.

The new GM is expected to work closely with senior advisor Ed Stefanski and head coach Dwane Casey on matters of personnel.

The Pistons are also searching for an assistant GM, with Tayshaun Prince reportedly a top candidate
