DETROIT (WWJ) -- As Detroit is gearing up to host its seventh Frozen Four in the spring, tickets officially went on sale Tuesday morning.

Little Caesars Arena will host the semifinals and championship game of the 2020 NCAA Men's Hockey Tournament on Thursday, April 9 and Saturday, April 11, respectively.

Tickets are available through the NCAA website or at the LCA box office.

"Hosting the NCAA 2020 Men’s Frozen Four is a tremendous honor and opportunity," Greg Hammaren, Chairman of the 2020 NCAA Men’s Frozen Four Local Organizing Committee and Senior Vice President/General Manager of Fox Sports Detroit, said in a statement. "I hope everyone has a chance to experience the excitement and pageantry of this National Championship tournament. Little Caesars Arena has already impressed the NCAA, I know Detroit’s energy will as well."

LCA, which opened in September 2017, will become the fourth different Detroit venue to host the Frozen Four. Olympia Stadium was home to the event in 1977 -- which saw Michigan lose to Wisconsin 6-5 in overtime -- and 1979. Joe Louis Arena played host in 1985, 1987 and 1990, while Ford Field held games in 2010.

Little Caesars Arena hosted first and second round games in the 2018 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament and will do so again in 2021. LCA will also host the 2022 Division I Men's College Wrestling Championships. Several other NCAA championships in various sports are scheduled to come to other parts of Michigan in the coming years.

The Frozen Four tournament selection show is scheduled for 7 p.m. March 22 on ESPNU.  For more information on the Frozen Four, visit
