97.1 The Ticket -- Lions fans who wanted to see their team's 2019 training camp documented on the HBO series "Hard Knocks" this summer will not get their wish.

Watch NFL games now on fuboTV.

Instead, the Oakland Raiders will be featured on the 14th installment of the show, the team announced on Tuesday.

Fans had been waiting for weeks to hear an official announcement on the show, and the idea of getting a behind-the-scenes look at the Lions became a polarizing discussion amongst fans. Some folks wanted to see the personalities of head coach Matt Patricia and quarterback Matthew Stafford come into the spotlight, while others argued they did not want to be in the spotlight, only to be scrutinized by other NFL fans.

Of course, many argued the Raiders would simply make for a more entertaining watch. Coach Jon Gruden, in the midst of his second stint in Oakland in an attempt to rebuild the organization, has a personality made for TV -- he was the color analyst on ESPN's Monday Night Football, after all. One of the biggest stars in the league in Antonio Brown just signed with the team this offseason, and of course, the Raiders' imminent move to Las Vegas creates intrigue with the team's final season in the Bay Area.

While the Lions were one of five teams who could not decline to be on the show, many speculated all along the league and HBO would prefer to have the Raiders.
