Currently the Detroit Pistons are 31-39 and are in 9th place in the Eastern Conference.

Plenty of Pistons' fans have been wanting the team to move on from Coach Stan Van Gundy, who is also the president of basketball operations.

A report from Marc Stein of the New York Times says the Pistons have "expressed interest in hiring former Piston and current ESPN analyst Chauncey Billups."

"Detroit has expressed interest in hiring the former Pistons star Chauncey Billups to work in tandem with Arn Tellem in a totally revamped front office, according to league sources," Stein tweeted.

Neither Billups or Tellem has front office experience in the NBA. Tellem is currently the Pistons' vice chairman.

Last season Billups was reportedly low-balled by the Cleveland Cavaliers to become their president.

If the Pistons were to hire Billups, it would mean Van Gundy would be relieved of his duties as president of basketball operations.

Would you want Van Gundy to return as the head coach of the Pistons?
