“He’s still one of the top five quarterbacks in the National Football League right now."

After Saints quarterback Drew Brees broke Peyton Manning's all-time career passing touchdown record on Monday Night Football, it rekindled a debate about two of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history.

ESPN personality Stephen A. Smith revived the debate on "First Take" earlier this week.

“He’s still one of the top five quarterbacks in the National Football League right now. When you look at what he has been doing statistically and you combine that with how he looks now at the time that he captured this record, I like his career better.”

Stoney agreed with Smith’s take, citing the statistical advantage.

“If you look at all the stats, pretty much all [of them] are in Brees’ favor.”

Jamie admitted that the numbers do not lie, but brought the question back to choosing the quarterback that you can build a franchise around.

“If you’re in the draft room and these two quarterbacks come up, who would you take? You’d take Peyton Manning.”
