Gator looks ahead to 2020 and beyond regarding the Lions’ front office, suggesting some potential replacement opitons for Head Coach Matt Patricia and General Manager Bob Quinn.

He's ready to move on from Patricia, and considers former Green Bay Packers Head Coach Mike McCarthy as a potential candidate going forward.

“I’m not saying he’s 'the guy,' I’m just saying that he’s in the pool of coaches that I would consider for this team in 2020. He’s a really good coach and absolutely possesses the qualities that you would want in a head coach. He’s an offensive-minded guy [and] I don’t mind that at all.”

Though Matt Millen was definitely a thing that happened when the Lions decided to pull someone from the broadcast booth, Gator suggested Fox Sports' Troy Aikman and cited the recent success of the San Francisco 49ers.

“Other guys who have gone from the TV booth have worked out differently. John Lynch in San Francisco, they have turned that franchise around and they did it quickly.”
