(97.1 The Ticket) -- A trailer has been released for a documentary focusing on former Red Wings and Blackhawks player Bob Probert.

The film, set to release next month in Canada and some time in 2019 in the U.S., focuses on Probert's "tough guy" mentality, on and off the ice.

The doc will focus on Probert's rough and tumble lifestyle. At the time of his retirement he was fifth all-time in the NHL for penalty minutes and holds the Red Wings records for career penalty minutes (2,090) and most PIM in a season (398 in 1987-88).

The trailer opens with news clips from the time Probert was arrested on cocaine charges while crossing the Ambassador Bridge from Canada to Detroit. He opened up about his off-ice troubles, including his use of cocaine and alcohol.

The documentary features interviews with fellow former Red Wings Chris Chelios, Steve Yzerman and Joe Kocur -- the other half of the "Bruise Brothers" duo -- as well as many others from his family and around the hockey community.

Probert died of a heart attack in 2010 while boating on Lake St. Clair.
