(97.1 The Ticket) Football star Brett Favre wants youth football to end, saying in some games kids look like "they're going to break in half."

Favre said during an interview on "Megyn Kelly Today" that kids who are 15 years old or younger should not be playing tackle football because their brains are still developing.

The banning of youth football -- Is that where America is headed?

Many 97.1 The Ticket callers and producer Mike Sullivan disagree with the concept of shutting down youth football.

"These 10-year-olds aren't getting concussions from these hits ... You have to teach the proper instructions, you have to hit with your head up," said Mike Valenti producer Mike Sullivan, who started playing tackle football when he was 9 years old.

He claimed there are more concussions among high school cheerleaders than football players.

Banning tackles would be akin to wrapping kids in bubble wrap, Sully said, and forcing them to play nothing but video games all days.

Bogey & Wojo show co-host Bob Wojnowski said he would need to see scientific proof that football hits at a young age cause lasting damage.

"(Shutting down tackles) is controversial for obvious reasons, as football is America's past time," Wojo said, adding at some point if we're going to have tackle football in America it has to be taught to kids.

You can't just show up in the NFL ready to play because you've watched the game on TV, Wojo said.

But Kyle Bogey disagreed -- and went further than most, saying it may be time for football to end in its entirety.

"Football is a game that shouldn't be played," co-host Bogey said, adding, "This is talking about your brain, this is affecting everything in your post-playing career."
